Ok y’all. We are showing up and doing the damn thing! I’m so proud of you for showing up here and squirreling away all the personal finance KNOWLEDGE you can. Let’s continue on that journey today, friends. Today I want to share with you my favorite personal finance podcasts.
The podcast world is wide and wild. And it’s constantly expanding as new shows and episodes are added. It’s so hard to have a unique voice in the personal finance podcast world, because most topics have been DONE. And DONE AGAIN.
But after hours and hours of research through the muck and mud that is the podcast world, down off-road jungle trails, while fighting off mosquitos and critters alike, I can finally say “mission accomplished”. I’ve narrowed my list down to just a few podcasts that offer a UNIQUE, FRESH and ENTERTAINING perspective on money. These hours of podcast listening were FOR YOU, my friends. All for you.
So listen up and let’s get into it. Without further ado, my favorite personal finance podcasts!
His & Her Money Show with Talaat and Tai McNeely
Talaat and Tai are national treasures. Known as America’s #1 Money Couple, they’re so smart, fun and thoughtful and I just want to be friends with them. Together, they kicked HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars worth of debt to the curb (yep, multiple zeros), and they are the ultimate resource and inspiration for individuals and couples who want to get their finances under control.
I love that they veer off from the personal finance world sometimes and share wisdom with their listeners on all sorts of topics, including race, religion, parenting and marriage. They have a clear voice and message and the world needs them to keep shining their light.
Don’t tell anyone, but the word on the street is they’re writing a book that will come out later this year. Shhhhh!

Afford Anything with Paula Pant
Speaking of national treasures, Paula Pant is the ultimate boss and entrepreneur. She’s not only a successful real estate investor and philanthropist, she’s also THE BEST teacher ever. I didn’t truly internalize some of the basic personal finance principles until I heard her explain them.
The podcast comes out twice weekly, with one Q&A episode, and one episode that features an interview with a highly respected and impressive guest. She’s at her best when she’s taking listener calls and counseling them through tough decisions. But don’t count her out as a skilled interviewer, either. She’s the All Around Champ in my book.
As if the podcast wasn’t enough, Paula published a FREE ebook called “Escape” last year that is 100% worth the download. Don’t miss out on Paula’s emails, either. Fresh perspectives delivered direct to my inbox each week? Sign me up.
(Hey Paula, when you’re ready for a hype girl, I’m just an email away!)

Journey to Launch with Jamila Souffrant
Jamila was the first podcaster I ever listened to in the personal finance space. Over the last couple years, Journey to Launch has grown leaps and bounds and she deserves every morsel of success coming her way.
If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “there’s got to be a better way,” you’ll enjoy every bit of the Journey to Launch content. Jamila is a big believer in the FIRE movement (financial independence, retire early) and frequently shares about her own journey toward FI. Her story is so inspiring – she went from running the rat race at full speed to suddenly ejecting herself from the corporate world and daily commute.
I’ve got to mention that she’s one of my favorite interviewers ever. Jamila’s guests don’t get away with vague answers – she’s going to nail down specific numbers, dates and action items. The nitty gritty details are where the lessons are so it’s a refreshing approach.
Jamila just launched a baller new website with a quiz feature that tells you where you are on the journey toward financial independence. It even suggests podcast episodes tailored to where you are. Pretty cool, eh?

ChooseFI
Alright, y’all, I couldn’t wrap up this list of my favorite personal finance podcasts without including my favorite money nerds at ChooseFI. Brad and Jonathan are the #1 advocates for the FIRE movement, and each episode dives into practical, applicable and relevant advice for transforming your finances (and your life) by pursuing financial independence and early retirement.
Even if you’re not living that FIRE life, this podcast is useful for you no matter your financial goals. This was the one listen for me that encouraged me think bigger, and helped me wrap my head around some higher level (and terrifying!) money goals.
The thing about the early retirement movement that gets lost in the noise sometimes is that even if you don’t quite get there – even if you fall short of early retirement and financial independence – the application of the smart money habits and ideas inherent within the FIRE movement will ROCKET you to financial stability and success.
I urge you to take a listen to the ChooseFI podcast ASAP. And, don’t miss out on the incredibly engaged, smart Facebook community the hosts have built.
